Assistant Sales Manager

Position:  Full‐time Assistant Sales Manager in a well‐established, full service and family‐owned  jewelry store.  This position offers hourly compensation plus commissions, sales incentives and a  benefits package.  The work schedule will require some weekend and evening hours. 

Location: Downtown business and cultural district, Greensburg, PA 

Minimum Application Requirements:  

  •  2 years experience in selling fine jewelry 
  •  Demonstrates dedication to a career in the jewelry industry 
  •  High School Diploma 
  •  GIA Applied Jewelry Professional or GIA Graduate Gemologist Certificates or equivalent  accreditation 
  •  Proficiency with computers and mobile devices 
  •  Friendly, upbeat and engaging personality 
  •  A team player 

Job Description: As an Assistant Sales Manager your primary focus is to build and maintain relationships  with our customers.  Secondarily, to assist the Sales Manager in managing sales team performance,  training, company policies and procedures and cultivate a team culture.

Sales responsibilities include but are not limited to demonstrating OUTSTANDING customer service,  building and maintaining a loyal client base, advising clients in jewelry selection, custom design and/or  repair and perform sales support tasks including but not limited to the following: 

  • Checking the condition of customers’ jewelry for cleaning and repair. 
  • Changing watch batteries or assisting shop staff in changing watch batteries. 
  • Assisting in the preparation of Insurance Replacement Appraisals. 
  • Processing gold buys.
  • Processing financing applications and transactions.
  • Wrapping or packaging of items for presentation as gifts or shipping. 
  • Merchandising and cleaning of inventory. 
  • Participating in promotional in‐store and out‐of‐store events. 
  • Cleaning and maintaining a tidy and presentable sales floor environment.
  • Be vigilant and aware of safety and security considerations.  

 Managerial responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the Sales Manager in the follow  capacities: 

  •  Assisting in running sales meetings. 
  •  Assisting in developing and implementing sales training. 
  •  Assisting in implementing sales goals, staff incentives and motivate staff to attain targets. 
  •  Assisting in inventory management. 
  •  Maintaining quality of service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards. 
  •  Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Arranging sales staff work schedules.
